Doubles the maximum fine for first-offense identity fraud from $5,000 to $10,000 and increases maximum imprisonment from 5 years to 10 years

Doubles penalties for second or subsequent offenses, raising the maximum fine from $10,000 to $20,000 and maximum imprisonment from 10 years to 20 years

Applies to fraudulently using another person's identity, social security number, credit card number, debit card number, or other identifying information to obtain goods, services, or anything of value

Requires convicted individuals to pay restitution in addition to fines and imprisonment

Effective date: July 1, 2014
