Commends and recognizes the Mississippi Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics on its 80th anniversary of serving as the state's professional pediatric organization, to be acknowledged on March 25, 2014.

Recognizes the founding of the Mississippi State Pediatric Society in 1934 by eight physicians and its establishment as an official American Academy of Pediatrics chapter in 1956.

Acknowledges the organization's successful advocacy for child health legislation including infant car restraint laws, child booster seat requirements, graduated driver licensing, and child death review procedures.

Notes that the academy's influence has contributed to growth from founding members to 336 pediatricians currently serving communities across Mississippi as primary care providers.

Directs distribution of the resolution to the Mississippi Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
