Salutes and congratulates Dr. Garland H. "Bo" Holloman, a Clarksdale native and University of Mississippi Medical Center physician, for his lifetime contributions to advancing medicine and preserving lives.

Recognizes Dr. Holloman's role in establishing Mississippi's Crisis Intervention Teams, including his work on the 2008 Hinds County Crisis Intervention task force and co-authoring House Bill 1049 that authorized statewide CIT programs.

Acknowledges Dr. Holloman's leadership as co-chair of "Project Beta," a multiyear medical research study that established new national standards for evaluating and treating patient agitation in emergency services.

Notes that Project Beta has led to worldwide guidelines reducing coercion in emergency psychiatric care, decreasing physical restraints on psychiatric patients, and lowering assault and injury rates in hospitals.

Directs copies of the resolution be furnished to Dr. Holloman, the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and the Capitol Press Corps.
