Commends Dr. Rex Yancey upon his retirement as pastor of Ripley First Baptist Church after nearly fifty years of ministerial service.

Recognizes Dr. Yancey's career including his call to ministry in 1965, two and one-half years in evangelism, eleven years as pastor of First Baptist Church of Quitman, fifteen years at First Baptist Church of Pascagoula, and service at Ripley First Baptist Church since 2007.

Notes Dr. Yancey's educational credentials including a bachelor of science degree from Blue Mountain College and both Master of Divinity and Doctor of Divinity degrees from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Acknowledges his service as President of the Mississippi Baptist Convention and his leadership within the Baptist denomination.

Extends best wishes for God's continued blessings in his future endeavors and directs distribution of the resolution to Dr. Yancey and the Capitol Press Corps.
