Honors Attorney Constance Iona Slaughter-Harvey for her civil rights and women's rights accomplishments and historic achievements in Mississippi and the nation.

Recognizes her as the first African American to receive a law degree from University of Mississippi School of Law (January 27, 1970) and first African-American female appointed as a judge in Mississippi (1976).

Commends her roles as Executive Director of Southern Legal Rights, Director of East Mississippi Legal Services, Assistant Secretary of State for Elections and General Counsel (1984-1995), and President of Elections, Inc.

Acknowledges her founding of the W.L. Slaughter Memorial Foundation and the Legacy Education and Community Empowerment Foundation to support youth education and family empowerment initiatives.

Directs that copies of the resolution be furnished to Attorney Slaughter-Harvey and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
