Documents the church's founding as Oakey Valley Baptist Church by early Lauderdale County settlers, its 1859 name change to Meridian Baptist Church, and its 1892 designation as First Baptist Church.

Chronicles the church's physical relocations and construction history, including a building moved from Marion, Mississippi, a structure destroyed by fire in 1871, and subsequent educational buildings and renovations through 1948.

Recognizes the pastoral leadership and ministry accomplishments over 175 years, including missionary work in Haiti, Mexico, Dominican Republic, India, China, Trinidad, and other locations, as well as local community outreach programs.

Directs that copies of the resolution be provided to the First Baptist Church of Meridian and the Capitol Press Corps.
