Expresses Mississippi's profound regret for the state's role in slavery and apologizes for the wrongs inflicted by slavery and its aftereffects on African Americans.

Extends deepest sympathies and solemn regrets to enslaved persons and their descendants for deprivation of life, human dignity, and constitutional protections.

Encourages remembrance and teaching of slavery, Jim Crow laws, and modern day slavery history to ensure these tragedies are neither forgotten nor repeated.

Specifies the resolution shall not be used in, or serve as the basis for, any litigation.

Directs copies be furnished to state elected officials, institutional leaders, and civil rights organizations including the NAACP Mississippi Chapter and Southern Christian Leadership Conference Mississippi Chapter.
