Commends the legacy of Ernest Henry Jones, Jr., the former owner of Jones Shoe Shop in Starkville, Mississippi, upon the 74th year anniversary of the business.

Recognizes Jones's entrepreneurial achievements including acquiring the shoe shop in 1943, relocating it to downtown Starkville, and operating it for over 38 years before retiring in 1977; his son Wesley became sole proprietor in 1988.

Honors Jones's business skills and community contributions, including crafting gun holsters, wallets, handbags, and belts, as well as repairing equipment for Mississippi State University's football department.

Acknowledges Jones's support of African-American businesses, membership in the NAACP, service as a deacon for over 61 years at Second Baptist Church, and involvement in founding senior housing and cemetery facilities.

Directs that copies of the resolution be furnished to the Jones family and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
