Honors Attorney Constance Iona Slaughter-Harvey for her accomplishments in civil rights, women's rights, and legal advocacy in Mississippi and nationally.

Recognizes her as the first African American to receive a law degree from University of Mississippi School of Law (January 27, 1970) and the first African American female judge appointed in Mississippi (1976).

Commends her service as Assistant Secretary of State for Elections, Public Lands and General Counsel (1984-1995) and leadership in voter registration reforms including Mail-In Voter Registration and Motor Voter Registration.

Acknowledges her founding and leadership of the W.L. Slaughter Memorial Foundation and the Legacy Education and Community Empowerment Foundation, which provide youth programs and educational enhancement services.

Directs distribution of the resolution to Attorney Slaughter-Harvey and the Capitol Press Corps.
