Commends Ms. Pat Thomasson, CEO of the Thomasson Company in Philadelphia, Mississippi, for being named 2014 Businesswoman of the Year by the Mississippi Business Journal.

Recognizes that under her leadership, the Thomasson Company (which manufactures pressure-treated utility poles) increased sales by over 50 percent to more than $60 million without acquisitions.

Notes that Thomasson was elected the first female president of the Mississippi Lumber Manufacturers Association in 2010 and is recognized as a strong advocate for women in business.

Acknowledges her active involvement in the Women's Business Enterprise Council South, her service as a breast cancer survivor supporting business opportunities for women, and her community volunteer work including her role with the Neshoba County Rebel Club and Rotary Club of Philadelphia.

Directs distribution of the resolution to Ms. Thomasson, the Thomasson Company, and the Capitol Press Corps.
