Honors his military service in the United States Navy during World War II and his subsequent education at Southern Developmental Foundation of the University of Southern Mississippi

Recognizes his 55-year preaching ministry during which he pastored nine Church of God in Christ (COGIC) congregations and served as District 3 Superintendent

Acknowledges his 62-year marriage to Geneva McSwain and his surviving family including five children, 23 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren

Directs copies of the resolution be provided to his family and the Capitol Press Corps
