Senate Bill 2010 Summary

• Permits unregistered qualified electors to register and vote on primary or election day at polling places or registrar's offices by completing a registration application and providing required identification, with votes cast by affidavit ballot.

• Establishes a secure Internet website administered by the Secretary of State to allow eligible persons to submit voter registration applications and update existing registration information online.

• Authorizes qualified electors to vote early from 21 days to 5 days before an election at the registrar's office or board-designated locations, with votes announced simultaneously with election day results.

• Amends absentee voting provisions to clarify that persons voting early may not also cast absentee ballots at the registrar's office during the early voting period.

• Takes effect July 1, 2014.
