Amends Section 77-5-231 of Mississippi Code to authorize generation and transmission electric corporations to undertake economic development activities directly, indirectly, alone, or in conjunction with other entities.

Permits electric corporations to provide capital, invest in or acquire business and industrial sites, develop necessary infrastructure and services, and attract new or existing businesses to create or maintain employment.

Allows economic development activities to positively impact service territory or promote the sale of electric energy.

Takes effect upon passage.
