Amends Mississippi Code Section 27-65-111 to add a sales tax exemption for school supplies purchased during a designated period each year.

School supplies are exempt from sales tax beginning at 12:01 a.m. on the last Friday in July and ending at 12:00 midnight the following Saturday, provided each item costs less than $100.

Defines "school supplies" as 40 specific items commonly used by students, including binders, pencils, pens, notebooks, calculators, folders, markers, paper, textbooks, workbooks, and similar materials listed exhaustively in the statute.

The exemption does not apply to accessories such as jewelry, handbags, luggage, umbrellas, watches, and backpacks, nor to rental of clothing or footwear.

Takes effect July 1, 2014.
