MS SB2090

Amends Mississippi Code sections 37-151-103 and 37-9-39 to allow school districts discretion in processing payroll for nonlicensed employees on either a monthly or semimonthly basis.

Requires all school districts to maintain a single monthly payroll for licensed employees, while nonlicensed employees may receive either monthly or semimonthly payroll at the local school board's discretion.

Maintains that salaries and wages must be paid at a minimum on a monthly basis, with December payments due by the last working day of the month.

Requires all payroll settlements to be processed through electronic direct deposit of net pay for school district employees.

Becomes effective upon passage.
