Senate Bill 2138 Summary

• Creates the Supplemental Law Enforcement Officers Training Fund to assist the Board on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Training in paying costs for training conservation officers and state law enforcement officers.

• Imposes an additional $4.00 license tag fee on light carriers of property and private carriers of passengers, with $2.00 deposited to the new training fund and $2.00 to the state general fund, effective July 1, 2015.

• Exempts private carriers of passengers and light carriers of property from vehicle inspection requirements and the requirement to display inspection certificates.

• Modifies vehicle window tinting regulations to clarify label placement requirements for vehicles not required to have inspection certificates.

• Takes effect July 1, 2014.
