Exempts booking information from public disclosure under the Mississippi Public Records Act when a person is held in custody solely based on mental health status and is not under arrest for any criminal offense.

Defines "booking information" to include jail dockets, photographs (mug shots), and other records generated when a person is taken into custody or held under arrest by law enforcement.

Amends Section 25-61-12 of the Mississippi Code of 1972 to add the mental health-based custody exemption.

Amends Section 25-61-3 of the Mississippi Code of 1972 to add the definition of "booking information."

Effective date: July 1, 2014.
