Increases the minimum number of signatures required on nominating petitions for school board trustee candidates from 25 to 50 qualified electors in Section 37-7-211.

Adds a provision that if an area has fewer than 100 qualified electors, only 20 percent of qualified electors in that area must sign the nominating petition instead of a fixed number.

Changes the filing deadline window for nominating petitions from "at least 60 days" to "no more than 90 days and not less than 60 days" before the election in both sections.

Increases the signature requirement for special municipal separate school district board candidates from 150 to 50 qualified electors in Section 37-7-711.

Takes effect July 1, 2014.
