Students scoring below 20 on the ACT test must attend a community or junior college to receive Mississippi Resident Tuition Assistance Grant (MTAG) awards, while students at four-year institutions must score a minimum of 20 on the ACT.

MTAG award amounts remain at $500 for freshmen and sophomores and $1,000 for juniors and seniors, applied toward tuition, room, meals, books, materials and fees.

Removed the requirement that students have a minimum ACT score of 15 for initial eligibility, replacing it with a tiered system based on institution type and program of study.

Students in vocational or technical programs or those with a GED attending community or junior colleges are exempt from ACT score requirements unless enrolling in academic courses.
