Allows teacher candidates pursuing standard licensure through the nontraditional (alternate) route to meet requirements by achieving either a minimum 2.75 GPA on content coursework in their certification area OR passing Praxis II scores at or above the national recommended score (effective September 30, 2015).

Requires all alternate route teacher candidates to achieve a 21 ACT equivalent or passing score on the Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators examination as a prerequisite.

Specifies that the accepted cohort of candidates for any teacher education program must meet or exceed a 3.0 GPA on pre-major coursework.

Applies to candidates seeking licensure to teach in Mississippi under the Teach Mississippi Institute (TMI) program and other nontraditional routes starting September 30, 2015.
