Amends Section 63-3-411 of the Mississippi Code to clarify investigation responsibilities for motor vehicle accidents on federally designated controlled-access interstate highways.

Highway patrol or sheriff's office investigates accidents occurring outside municipal corporate limits; municipal police departments investigate accidents within municipal limits.

Municipal police departments may investigate accidents on federally designated controlled-access interstate highways within their corporate limits if an agreement exists with the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol; otherwise the highway patrol investigates.

Law enforcement officers must forward accident investigation reports to the department within six (6) days of completing the investigation, or to the municipal police department if the accident occurred within municipal limits.

Accident reports must include phone numbers of all parties involved and witnesses to assist law enforcement investigation.
