Clarifies that the Office of Mississippi Physician Workforce (rather than UMMC) has authority to award up to $3,000,000 distributed over three years to hospitals or entities establishing accredited Family Medicine residency programs.

Allows Family Medicine residency programs to accept both M.D. and/or D.O. students from schools accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).

Requires applicants for state financial support to submit applications to the Office of Mississippi Physician Workforce that conform to chapter requirements.

Authorizes the Office of Mississippi Physician Workforce to use discretion in awarding funding based on geographic needs and the anticipated success of residency programs.

Takes effect July 1, 2014.
