Requires arresting law enforcement officers to check the Mississippi Protection Order Registry after making an arrest for a misdemeanor act of domestic violence.

Mandates that officers inform the judge or bail-setting official of any existing domestic abuse protection orders against the accused, which must be considered when determining bail.

Amends Section 99-3-7, Mississippi Code of 1972, to establish this new registry check requirement as part of domestic violence arrest procedures.

Effective date: July 1, 2014.
