Honors Jackson Police Officer Bruce Daniel Jacob who died in the line of duty on July 20, 2013, when struck by a vehicle while clearing debris from Interstate 55 near Northside Drive.

Jacob was a five-year veteran of the Jackson Police Department assigned to Precinct Four and had completed the department's 45th Recruitment Class Training Academy in 2009.

Jacob was the 16th Jackson Police Officer to die in the line of duty, with his name to be added to the Jackson Police Department Memorial Wall dating back to 1893.

Survived by his wife Jennifer Jacob of Florence, mother Paula Johnson of Pelahatchie, and extended family including siblings and nephews.

Directs the resolution be presented to Jacob's surviving family, forwarded to the Mayor and City Council of Jackson, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
