Recognizes the 50th anniversary of the Mississippi Bar Foundation, which was organized in 1963 to improve the administration of justice and serve as a representative organization of the Bench and Bar.

The Foundation has awarded grants for the Statewide Mock Trial Competition, disaster relief, law school scholarships, and bar forums, and published histories of The Mississippi Bar and Mississippi Supreme Court.

The Foundation administers Mississippi's Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts (IOLTA) program, established in 1984, which has awarded over $12,500,000 in grants to law-related public service programs since inception.

The Mississippi Bar Center, opened in 1988 and celebrating its 25th anniversary, serves as headquarters for The Mississippi Bar and Foundation and hosts depositions, mediations, and bar-related meetings.

The resolution lists 51 Foundation presidents from 1962-2013 and directs the resolution be presented to current President Steve Rosenblatt and the Mississippi Board of Bar Commissioners.
