Louisville High School "Wildcats" defeated Hazlehurst 30-28 on December 7, 2013, to win the Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 3A State Championship.

Senior defensive tackle Malik Slaughter batted down a two-point pass attempt with 41 seconds remaining to preserve the victory at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The Wildcats finished the 2013 season with a 16-0 record, the fifth MHSAA team to achieve a perfect season, and recorded seven shutouts in 15 games.

Coach M.C. Miller compiled a 45-12 record in his fourth season at Louisville and 208-115-4 overall in his 29th season, having previously coached Noxubee County to a state title in 2008.

The resolution commends the team and Coach Miller for the state championship and extends best wishes for future success.
