Commends the Germantown High School Band and Director Justin Harvison for winning the 2013 MHSAA/MBA Class 5A State Marching Band Championship with a composite score of 96.5, the highest in competition history.

Band earned first place in Music Performance, Visual Performance, General Effect, and Percussion categories while remaining undefeated in Class 5A competition.

Band program, established in 2011, includes Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Indoor Percussion, and Winter Guards, and has received all-superior ratings in marching, concert, and sight reading.

Four band members earned Mississippi Lions All-State Band honors: Jason Smith (Trumpet), Matt Stanford (Percussion), Rebekah Pfau (Clarinet), and Wesley Dillard (Trombone).

Resolution directs presentation of commendation to Band Director Justin Harvison and Principal Ted Moore, with copies forwarded to Madison County School District Board of Education and Capitol Press Corps.
