French Camp Academy "Panthers" defeated Smithville High School 27-6 on December 6, 2013, to win their first-ever MHSAA Class 1A State Championship.

Coach Nathan Wright, in his 9th season with a 60-58 record, led the Panthers to victory after the team lost its first four games and nearly missed the playoffs.

Key performance details include Jesse Hosket's 187 passing yards, Hagan Box's punt return touchdown, and the defense holding Smithville to 107 total yards and 19 rushing yards.

Senate and House concurrent resolution commends and congratulates the team, coaches, parents, and sponsors, with the resolution to be presented to Coach Wright and Principal Rusty McKnight.
