Honors historical women including Chipeta, Anna Julia Cooper, Katharine Ryan Gibbs, Frances Oldham Kelsey, Tammy Duckworth, and others who demonstrated character, courage and commitment in various fields

Acknowledges women's contributions to American education, economy, culture and society, including the impact of Title IX enacted in 1977 in prohibiting gender discrimination in federally funded institutions

Recognizes the Mississippi Commission on the Status of Women, established in 2001, to advise the Legislature and executive branch on policies affecting women in Mississippi

Directs the Mississippi Commission on the Status of Women to observe appropriate programs, ceremonies and activities for the designated month
