Commends and congratulates Johnny Atherton, Vice President of Corporate Services and Community Relations for Mississippi Power Company in Gulfport, as the 2013-2014 Chairman of the Mississippi Manufacturers Association Board of Directors.

Atherton has worked for Mississippi Power since 1985 and is responsible for environmental and resource strategy, corporate services, community relations, supply chain management, and information technology.

Atherton holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the University of Southern Mississippi and serves on multiple boards including the Gulf Coast Business Council and University of Southern Mississippi Research Foundation.

Atherton is a graduate of Leadership Gulf Coast and Leadership Mississippi and has completed executive training programs at the Wharton School and Northwestern University's Kellogg School.

Resolution directs that this recognition be presented to Atherton, forwarded to the Mississippi Manufacturers Association Executive Director, and made available to Capitol Press Corps.
