Recognizes Memorial Hospital at Gulfport as the #1 ranked hospital in Mississippi according to U.S. News & World Report's 24th annual Best Hospitals rankings.

Memorial Hospital was the only hospital in Mississippi to receive national recognition in any of 16 medical specialties studied, specifically ranking among top hospitals nationally for Diabetes and Endocrinology care.

Hospital received high-performing ratings in Gastroenterology and GI Surgery, Geriatrics, Nephrology, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Pulmonology, and Urology.

Scored high on patient safety metrics and patient satisfaction, with nursing staff receiving the highest ranking scores in all high-performing specialty categories.

Resolution directs that a copy be presented to CEO Gary Marchand, forwarded to Gulfport City Council, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
