Commends Tupelo Police Corporal Kevin "Gale" Stauffer (age 38) who was killed in the line of duty on December 23, 2013, while pursuing fleeing bank robbers.

Stauffer served as a Corporal with the Tupelo Police Department since 2005 and was posthumously promoted to Sergeant; he previously worked as a jailer for Lee County Sheriff's Office and served in the Louisiana Army National Guard from 1998 to 2008.

Stauffer was a combat veteran who served in Iraq with the Louisiana Army National Guard, 1088th Engineer Battalion in 2004 and 2005, and held a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections from the University of Mississippi.

Stauffer is survived by his wife Beth, daughter Dixie Breckenridge Stauffer, and son Kevin Gale (Skip) Stauffer III.

Directs the resolution be presented to Stauffer's family, forwarded to the Mayor and City Council of Tupelo, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
