Commends Dr. Gerry Cadenhead Fletcher's over 50-year career in nursing and her leadership as Associate Dean and Dean of the School of Nursing at the University of Southern Mississippi.

Recognizes her work from 1980-1997 as Professor, Chair, and Interim Director before becoming Dean of the College of Nursing in 1997, during which she educated hundreds of registered nurses.

Honors her service as Assistant Administrator at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport and her leadership roles in the Mississippi Nurses Association, including work on the Political Action Committee.

Notes her posthumous induction into the Mississippi Nurses Association's Hall of Fame on March 3, 2014, and her gift contribution providing naming rights to the Dean's Suite in Asbury Hall.

Expresses the Legislature's sympathy on her death on July 22, 2013, and gratitude for her service to the state.
