Recognizes Pat Thomasson, CEO of Thomasson Company, as the Mississippi Business Journal's 2014 Businesswoman of the Year, announced February 27, 2014, at the Hilton of Jackson.

Thomasson Company manufactures pressure-treated utility poles for utility companies; under her leadership, sales increased more than 50% to over $60 million without acquisitions.

Thomasson was the first female elected President of the Mississippi Lumber Manufacturers Association in 2010 and serves as active member of Women's Business Enterprise Council South.

Graduate of University of Mississippi and breast cancer survivor who serves as Founder and Director of Neshoba County Rebel Club and Secretary of Rotary Club of Philadelphia.

Resolution directs that the recognition be presented to Thomasson, forwarded to the Mississippi Development Authority, and made available to Capitol Press Corps.
