Recognizes Dr. Yvonne T. Maddox, Deputy Director of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), for her outstanding contributions to Mississippi and health equity advocacy.

Honors Dr. Maddox's leadership in reducing health disparities in Mississippi, including initiatives to reduce infant mortality, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) risks, and childhood asthma.

Acknowledges her partnerships with Mississippi institutions and organizations including Jackson State University, Mississippi Valley State University, University of Mississippi Medical Center, Mississippi State Department of Health, and various community and faith-based groups.

Recognizes numerous federal honors and awards Dr. Maddox received during her NIH career, including the Presidential Distinguished Executive Rank Award, DHHS Secretary's Award, and NIH Director's Award, along with honorary degrees and memberships in professional societies.

Extends best wishes to Dr. Maddox on the occasion of her retirement, with recognition presented at Jackson State University Student Center Ballroom on April 27, 2014.
