Recognizes Lois "Miss Lois" Swaney-Shipp for receiving the 2014 Award of Merit from the Mississippi Historical Society on March 8, 2014, for her leadership in establishing and directing the Marshall County Historical Museum.

Acknowledges Swaney-Shipp's role as President of the Marshall County Historical Society at its first meeting on April 27, 1970, and her 30 years of service helping preserve the organization and the historic Mississippi Synodical College building.

Honors her lifelong dedication to historic preservation, including her purchase and restoration of the Balfour House in Vicksburg, known as the House of Generals for its Civil War significance.

Directs the Legislature to present this resolution to Swaney-Shipp, the Marshall County Historical Museum Society, the Mississippi Historical Society, and the Mississippi Department of Archives and History Board of Trustees.
