Honors Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Lance Corporal Kyle Carpenter, a Mississippi native who was seriously wounded while serving in Afghanistan.

Recognizes Carpenter's heroic action on November 21, 2010, when he covered an enemy hand grenade with his body to save fellow Marine Lance Corporal Nick Eufrazio, resulting in catastrophic wounds including loss of sight in his right eye.

Acknowledges Carpenter as the third Marine to receive the Congressional Medal of Honor since the beginning of the War on Terror and notes his receipt of the Purple Heart in December 2010.

Expresses the Mississippi Legislature's deepest appreciation for Carpenter's service and sacrifice and prays for his complete recovery from his injuries.

Affirms recognition of the sacrifice made by all men and women of the United States Armed Forces in defense of freedom and justice.
