Recognizes and honors Mr. Nathaniel "Nate" Jones, a Claiborne County native and civil rights pioneer, for his bravery and selflessness during the civil rights era in Mississippi.

Acknowledges Mr. Jones' civil rights activism including founding membership in the Claiborne County NAACP, participation in literacy and voter registration classes, and service on the NAACP Executive Board despite intimidation and retaliation.

Recognizes his post-civil rights era contributions including voter registration efforts, participation in protests at Alcorn College, recruitment of black political candidates, and founding of a black-owned grocery store.

Honors Mr. Jones as an altruistic visionary and role model for youth whose work exemplifies hard work, dedication, and commitment to justice and full citizenship for all people.

Directs that this resolution be presented to Mr. Jones and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
