Recognizes and congratulates Greenwood historian and historic preservationist Mary Carol Miller for receiving two National Awards from the Daughters of the American Revolution at the March 2014 Chakchiuma Chapter meeting.

Miller is the first National Award recipient from the Chakchiuma Chapter; only approximately 20 such awards are presented annually throughout the United States.

Miller, age 50, is a native of Greenwood who returned to her hometown in 2005 after 34 years away and has authored 11 books, including the co-authored "Greenwood: Mississippi Memories Vol. I" and its upcoming second volume.

Her work focuses on preserving historic architecture and Greenwood's history, beginning with her teenage interest in Cotesworth, an antebellum plantation house built 170 years prior by U.S. Senator J.Z. George.

Directs that the resolution be presented to Mary Carol Miller and her family, forwarded to the Chakchiuma Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
