Recognizes Dr. Yvonne T. Maddox, Deputy Director of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) at NIH, on the occasion of her retirement

Honors her work leading NICHD initiatives in Mississippi to reduce infant mortality, particularly reducing risks of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), and supporting research on childhood asthma

Acknowledges her partnerships with numerous Mississippi institutions including Jackson State University, Mississippi State Department of Health, University of Mississippi Medical Center, and various community and faith-based organizations

Notes her receipt of prestigious federal awards including the Presidential Distinguished Executive Rank Award and Presidential Meritorious Executive Rank Award

Directs the resolution be presented to Dr. Maddox at a ceremony at Jackson State University Student Center Ballroom on April 27, 2014
