Grants the State Board of Education authority to administer oaths, take depositions, subpoena persons, and compel production of books, papers, records and documents through its chairman or executive secretary.

Authorizes the State Board of Education to apply to circuit court for enforcement of subpoenas, with circuit court able to punish noncompliance as contempt.

Exempts all investigative documents and reports of the State Board of Education, teacher/administrator commissions, school accreditation commission, and investigative divisions of the State Department of Education from Mississippi Public Records Act requirements and discovery.

Allows the State Board of Education and its investigative divisions discretion to publicly release all or part of investigative documents and reports.

Effective date: July 1, 2015.
