Department of Revenue may develop a system using auctions or similar procedures to market and sell personalized and distinctive license tags under specified statute sections (27-19-48, 27-19-56.4, 27-19-56.7, 27-19-56.8, and 27-19-56.15).

Department may contract with a vendor or other entity to assist in developing and operating the auction system.

If established, the system must begin marketing and selling license tags for the applicable license plate or tag series on October 1, 2018.

Department of Revenue must file a status report with the Secretary of the Senate and Clerk of the House of Representatives before December 1, 2016.

Department has authority to promulgate rules and regulations necessary to implement the system in accordance with Mississippi Administrative Procedures Law; effective July 1, 2015.
