MS HB1130

Amends Mississippi Code sections governing compensation for state legislators and leadership to delay salary increases until the next legislative term following passage of the increase legislation.

Prohibits salary increases or decreases from taking effect during the current term of office for representatives, senators, and the Lieutenant Governor.

Requires any salary increase for the President Pro Tempore and Speaker Pro Tempore to begin on the first day of their term of office immediately following the legislative term in which the increase legislation is passed.

Maintains existing salary amounts: $10,000 per regular session for legislators, $60,000 annually for Lieutenant Governor and House Speaker, and $15,000 annually for President Pro Tempore and Speaker Pro Tempore.
