• Requires vehicles to have clearly visible license tags (including month and year) to receive an inspection certificate.

• Removes provision allowing automatic dismissal of inspection violations if defendant presents proof of valid inspection certificate before hearing date.

• Reduces maximum penalty for motor vehicle safety inspection law violations from $50 and/or six months jail to $25 fine only, with violations excluded from driving records and state assessments.

• Adds requirement that school buses be inspected during July or August each year.

• Updates reference from Interstate Commerce Commission to United States Department of Transportation regarding exempt vehicles.

• Effective July 1, 2015.
