Amends Mississippi Code Section 25-31-10 to add the Twenty-first Circuit Court District to the list of districts whose district attorneys may appoint two additional full-time criminal investigators, for a total of three investigators.

District attorneys in the First, Second, Fourth, Seventh, Nineteenth, and Twenty-first Circuit Court Districts are authorized to employ up to three full-time criminal investigators.

Criminal investigators' compensation is capped at $59,500 per annum, with discretionary increases based on qualifications and experience; those with law degrees may receive additional supplemental pay from available funds up to the legal assistant maximum salary.

District attorneys are prohibited from accepting private employment in matters investigated by their criminal investigators.

Effective date: July 1, 2015.
