Attorney General must create a standard petition form for expungement of misdemeanor convictions related to Civil Rights Movement participation from January 1, 1955 to December 31, 1965, to be made available in all courts and on the Attorney General's website.

Judges may review Civil Rights expungement petitions and either grant the expungement order, deny it with stated reasons, or schedule a hearing with notice to the petitioner.

Filing fee of $50.00 is established for Civil Rights expungement petitions, compared to $150.00 for standard expungement petitions under Section 99-19-71.

Existing expungement procedures under Sections 99-19-71, 99-15-59, 99-15-123, 99-15-57, and 21-23-7 are brought forward for amendment and codification.

Act takes effect July 1, 2015.
