MS HB1291

Amends Section 99-19-71 of the Mississippi Code to remove commercial burglary from the list of felonies ineligible for expunction for persons under age 18 at the time of the offense.

Allows individuals convicted of commercial burglary as minors to petition for expunction five years after successful completion of all sentence terms and conditions.

Maintains expunction ineligibility for minors convicted of rape, sexual battery, murder, manslaughter, carjacking, dwelling burglary, cyberstalking, child exploitation, armed robbery, and violent crimes or drug distribution felonies at the court's discretion.

Takes effect July 1, 2015.
