Extends the repeal date of the Interagency Farm to School Council from July 1, 2015 to July 1, 2018, allowing the council to continue operating for an additional 3 years

The Interagency Farm to School Council promotes programs connecting Mississippi farmers with schools to increase availability of healthy, fresh, locally grown foods in school meals

Council membership includes representatives from the State Department of Education, Department of Agriculture and Commerce, Department of Health, MSU and Alcorn State Extension Programs, school food service directors, nonprofit organizations, poultry producers, and Farm Bureau Federation

Council responsibilities include developing pilot farm to school programs, assisting with grant applications, training farmers on marketing and food safety, and helping schools modify procurement procedures for local food purchases

Effective date of July 1, 2015
