MS HB1426

Authorizes the City of Brandon, Mississippi governing authorities to enter into contracts for commercial, corporate, business or private enterprise naming rights on city park buildings and structures.

Naming rights contracts may be used on buildings, literature, letterhead, or other items as specified in the agreement and may extend beyond the term of office of current city officials.

Requires that contracts provide fair and adequate compensation to the City of Brandon in exchange for name recognition, advertising, potential returns and publicity benefits to the private enterprise.

Permits the city to negotiate and execute naming rights contracts using the same procurement method authorized by law for professional services contracts.

Takes effect upon passage.
