Amends Mississippi Code Section 93-9-9 to change language regarding cost recovery in paternity cases from "shall" to "may" be ordered paid to the Department of Human Services.

Allows courts to order a minimum of $250.00 in attorney's fees without requiring an affidavit, or another amount as determined by the court.

Applies to all cases successfully prosecuted, including documented costs for childbirth records, filing fees, court costs, process service fees, genetic testing, medical expenses, and funeral expenses.

Takes effect July 1, 2015.
